This is Sam, one of our basset hounds, in the 1970s. Mom took this pic of Sam in his favorite napping spot, the dining room table. Dad actually wrote about Sam and his love of sleeping on the table, and also in the kitchen sink. Readers thought he was kidding, but nope. When we'd leave the house, or go upstairs at night for bed, Sam would use a dining room chair, pushing it into place if necessary, to get up to the table top. He'd usually scurry off when we'd come home or downstairs, but Mom managed to catch him red-handed, or red-pawed, this time. He doesn't seem that concerned.
